Kids.. if you reading this, don't buy into it. Who ever wrote this cares nothing for the history of Metal or music. They just want try an control what you're listening too. The Big 4 were the big 4 cause they didn't suck. All 4 bands were the most commercially successful of the genre at that time.
But the big four was really all about sales. I don't have sales statistics but I would guess that the best selling power metal bands are Dragonforce, Nightwish, Sabaton, and Blind Guardian. My personal favorites are Blind Guardian, Nightwish, Falconer, Theocracy, and Kamelot.
