I can only here the whoomp, whoomp noise when I slightly tap on the gas at coasting speed. It's more pronounce on highways at 60mph. The noise is gone when I let off the gas pedal though. I've read all the threads and checked all the bearing and axles to no avail. The steering wheel also vibrates at around 70+ mph.
A grinding noise (especially while accelerating or turning). Ignoring a bad wheel bearing can lead to it locking up, which puts yourself, your passengers, and those around you in danger. Additionally, if left alone, it can cause further damage to your transmission, CV joints, and wheel hubs.
I am leading towards the center support bearing, but have read other posts stating a bad center support bearing makes noise when letting off the gas and coasting. I had a similar noise in my Lexus SC coupe, where it would make a whining noise and vibration when coasting. Turned out to be a bad center bearing. <O </O My other thought is the diff.
